Current Calls to Action and Key Education Bills

Over 130 education bills were filed this year at the Indiana General Assembly.

We focus on those that most closely align with our legislative priorities

We often put out calls to action on our call to action page (button above), blog or social media for specific bills or issues. When we do, here are some of the things you can do to take action and advocate for public education:

Quickly contact legislators and pertinent committee members.

Talk with a human and leave a message with your legislator or their staff.

Snail mail works, too! Postcard campaigns can be an effective attention getter. 

Letters to the Editor tell communities what’s happening with public ed.

Any citizen can do this! We can show you how to advocate in person.

Social media is a great way to draw attention to issues and calls to action.

Schedule a meeting with your legislator. Attend a town hall or local event.

Set up a community meeting (or zoom) and invite ICPE to present.

Hoosiers for Public Education

Indiana Coalition for Public Education has a bipartisan affiliated political action committee, Hoosiers for Public Education. Contributions to the PAC are pooled strategically to support the election of Indiana General Assembly candidates who stand up for Indiana public schools.
